Murfreesboro lies smack-dab

marks the geographic center of the state when you visit.
Murfreesboro served as the state capital from 1819 - 1826 and the site of one of the largest Civil War battles in late 1862.
Today, Murfeesboro is one of the largest cities in the state, featuring
great shopping, excellent restaurants and plentiful hotels. Come visit
our handsome town square boasting one of the last remaining
pre-Civil War courthouses in the state. The square also saw some of the fighting
during Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest's liberation of the
town from Union occupation in July of 1862.
